Imagine this: 21 days of soul-scintillating, happiness habit-forming activities that will sprinkle some sparkle into your life.
Hi. How are you?
You don’t need to answer with a routine “fine” or “good” like you do with everyone else. You can be honest with me.
How are you really?
- Are you stuck in a rut or a funk?
- Does your life feel a little flat?
- Has your get up and go got up and left?
I understand. Truly. I was stumbling in your shoes not too long ago.
I was terribly unhappy.
Until I unexpectedly discovered The Happiness Habit.
Come stroll along beside me. I’ve paved the path before us, and I have to tell you, it’s pretty spectacular.
If you’re feeling a bit nervous, that’s natural. But fret not! There’s safety in numbers.
And journeys are always more enjoyable and enlightening when shared with others.
There’s no place like hope.
“It is only possible to live happily ever after on a day-to-day basis.”
~ Margaret Bonanno

Imagine turning one of the crummiest times of your life into one of the happiest times of your life.
This is exactly what I did a few years ago.
It all started when I turned 40 and promptly fell into The Mother of All Funks.
I will spare you the gory details, but to give you an idea, The Funk involved: Internet dating hell, the swine flu (yes, I survived!), horrific insomnia, an unrequited mongo crush, a very sick elderly doggie who eventually passed away, and going through the same old, same old soul-sucking motions whilst trapped in a corporate cubicle.
Oh yeah. And there was that “turning 40” thing. Joy of joys.
I realized that 40 was “just a number”, but the number made me stop and think:
Is this it? Is this all there is?
Because THIS is not what I had envisioned for my life!
I decided right then and there to make my life more interesting.
What I really wanted to do was wander around the world like Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love. But her publisher paid for her to find herself, and I didn’t have that luxury.
Instead, I embarked on a blog project dubbed “The Year of Living Curiously.” Each day for a year, I got curious.
“Follow your curiosity instead. You can lead a whole life of that.”
For me, getting curious meant sprinkling a daily dose of soul-scintillation into my previously monotonous and routine existence.
What exactly is soul-scintillation? That’s a great question. Thank you for asking.
1. anything that lights up your soul
savoring a delicious meal with a trusted friend
2. (rarely) a grand adventure
a once-in-a-lifetime trip to an exotic place far, far away
3. (most often) a “stop and smell the roses” moment that infuses sparkle into the everyday
walking barefoot in the garden under the moon on a warm summer’s night
A sprinkle of soul-scintillation a day keeps the blahs away.
The biggest surprise of my 365 Day Living Curiously project was that it didn’t take me a year to feel happy again. In fact, I started feeling better within a matter of days because, unbeknownst to me at the time, I was building a happiness habit through the daily doses of soul-scintillation.
Holy Happiness Discovery, Batman!
It wasn’t until a year or so after I completed my project when I discovered through Shawn Achor, Harvard researcher and author of The Happiness Advantage, that there was neuroscience research supporting my newfound blissed-out state.
As an added bonus, the daily doses of soul-scintillation were cheap and easy. (The good kind of cheap and easy, not the tacky kind.)
Most of the year’s daily doses of soul-scintillation were comprised of those smaller “stop and smell the roses” moments that realistically fit into my busy schedule and were either free or inexpensive.
It was the most curious year of my life.
It was the most interesting year of my life.
It was the happiest year of my life.

How The Happiness Habit Works:
You know that stack of self-help books that you’ve intended to read? The ones that involve exercise after exercise that you need to plow through alone to achieve happiness, love, wealth and/or inner peace?
This course doesn’t work like that.
You know those e-courses that you’ve taken or have been tempted to take? The ones that include module after module after module with bonus after bonus after bonus that you wind up putting off and putting off and putting off because you’re completely overwhelmed, quickly falling behind, and…
What living, breathing woman realistically has time for all of that anyway???
This course doesn’t work like that.
You know that online experience that slowly and simply sends you daily inspiration, suggests a real-life tested and approved action step, and provides encouragement along the way in the name of accountability and happiness?
That, my friends, is The Happiness Habit e-course!
What You’ll Receive:
- A personalized Happiness Habit Plan. Tailored to your unique interests and passions.
- A daily inspirational passage followed by one soul-scintillating action step. Each day you will receive an email that leads you to our online classroom, where you’ll find your daily dose of soul-scintillation. All soul-scintillating action steps are designed with real-life time and money constraints in mind. Five minute options are offered for the severely time-restricted.
- A Happiness Habit Playlist. Music uplifts the spirit. I’m a former music teacher. Trust me on this one.

About Your Happiness Guide
In my former life, I was an educator for 16 years.
I designed an innovative performing and visual arts curriculum that I shared with children ages 3-10. We sang Mozart and The Beatles. We danced to Swan Lake and The Bee Gees. We painted like Michelangelo and created sand art like The Navajo. It was a hoot and a half.
My students’ parents always used to say, “I wish I could take a Ms. Michelle class!” Well, now is your chance, grown ups!
As I return to my teaching roots, I am thrilled to invite you to our playful online classroom for the young at heart.
Oh. There’s one more thing…
Back in the day, I was known and admired as a “hands-on, process-oriented teacher.”
Which means that I didn’t just sit on the sidelines and watch the kids sing and dance and paint. I performed right along with them. I literally sang and danced for my supper.
And I could have cared less about the outcome.
What always mattered most was that we wholeheartedly embraced the journey. Immersed ourselves in the flow. Fostered habits to instill a lifelong love of creativity and learning.
And now I promise to get blissed out right along with you as you nurture your Happiness Habit.
I am so excited to join you!!!
This happiness and neuroscience geek graduated from “The Science of Happiness” course offered through The University of California, Berkeley. For those of you who like shiny stamps of approval, you can see my stamp here.

Hello, Blissed Out!
It’s time to say goodbye to a blah life. Blah is boring. Blah breeds unhappiness.
Blah induces frowning, and frowning causes wrinkles. Now I’ve got your attention. ;-)
Are you ready to jump out of your same-old same-old routine, embrace/cultivate curiosity, and feel happier?
*See* you in class.
Please allow me to consult my Magic 8 Ball on that one.

Did you mention above that I can take this e-course at any time? As in, can I take it any time of the day or night? I am an insomniac, and 2 a.m. is perfect for me.
Why, yes I did mention that! Feel free to access our online classroom at any time. Who knows? Perhaps you’ll meet some fellow night owl and/or sleep-deprived friends.
As for your insomnia, I highly and enthusiastically recommend a homeopathic remedy called Moon Drops. They’re delicious, non-habit forming, and will make you go Zzzzzzz.
You’ve got this. And we've got you covered just in case.
Our online classroom is exceptionally easy to navigate. I promise. And there’s an uber-bright and responsive tech team ready and willing to support you should you encounter any glitches along the way.
Can I purchase this course as a gift for a friend, a family member, or as a Random Act of Kindness for a total stranger?
Wow. You are incredibly thoughtful. Will you be my friend? :-)
Absolutely. After you click the purchase button, and you are on the screen where you enter payment information, click on the small gift icon in the top line. The rest is self-explanatory.
Are you ready for this? May I have a drumroll, please?
You have LIFETIME ACCESS! Yay!
Maybe we can all make a pact to meet back here for a reunion in 20 years. How fun would that be?!?!
Yes, you officially need this transformative e-course.
First of all, breathe. Oxygen to the brain is a beautiful thing.
Second of all, turn off the television, and most importantly, Facebook. Or Instagram. Or your current social media time vacuum of choice.
Third of all, you now have the minimum 10-20 minutes per day to successfully complete this e-course.
Keep breathing and keep smiling. :-)
As standard with digital products and e-courses across the Interwebs, this course is non-refundable.
However, I am a rational, reasonable lass who prides herself on being a bit of a non-conformist. You are always welcome to reach out to me via the contact page, and we’ll discuss solutions. xo
Well… it depends what kind of sliced bread you’re talking about. I mean, NOTHING compares to a warm, freshly sliced, crusty bread paired with a stupendous cheese and a vintage Italian wine.
Unless you’re gluten and/or lactose intolerant. Then your Tuscan picnic is suddenly a nightmare.
As for e-courses, I think they’re pretty groovy. After all, I’m a self-professed e-course junkie.
What I enjoy most about e-courses is their digestibility.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a voracious reader of non-fiction. However, I most often find that I forget much of what I’ve read shortly after a reading binge. Probably because my brain is bloated from a lot of facts, and there’s little to no application in real life. As an educator, this information overload accompanied by no real, significant learning has been very frustrating for me.
With an e-course, you’re spoon fed small bites of information and application daily.
You’re also surrounded by a virtual community of like-minded individuals who are ready to cheer you on.
The entire process leads to better retention, newfound healthy habits, and a peaceful easy feeling. Ooh. Ahh.
